ShareWareThe GARUG is also known for its collection of shareware SAS programs for reporting about RACF. Unfortunately, we lost these programs some years ago when the GARUG was going through one of its silent periods. But thanks to Jeffrey Loewenstein, who kept the original copy all these years, we are now able to once again provide these programs. DisclaimerThese routines were written by RACF users. They are being used by RACF users. Use them if you believe them to be correct. Do not take it for granted that if they run in one shop they will run in your shop. Desk check them completely before you run them. None of these routines access the RACF database in any way, shape, or form. They only read the flat file generated by the RACF Database Unload Utility. All of the code included in this package is source code or JCL. No object code is included or accepted by the GARUG for use or distribution. The Georgia RACF Users Group is not responsible for any damages that may occur. The Georgia RACF Users Group makes no warranty, expressed or implied, regarding the following information as applied to any particular computer installation. GeneralThese SAS routines were donated to the GARUG programming library for the use of RACF practitioners. All routines use RACF data extracted from a RACF database using the RACF Database Unload Utility. The SMF reporting programs use SMF data extracted via the Audit Data Unload Utility. The details and record layout for the sequential output file from the RACF Database Unload Utility can be found in the RACF Macros and Interfaces manual - SA22-7682. Jeffrey Loewenstein has also written a short presentation about the use of these SAS programs. He has granted us permission to include a softcopy on the GARUG site. It's a PDF, so you must have some PDF viewer to read it. Click here for the presentation: Loewenstein-SAS-Usage.PDF Plea for helpWe do ask that if you enhance these SAS routines or create new ones of your own, to please consider donating a copy of the program to the SAS library of the Georgia RACF Users Group. Your donations will be added to the distribution package to help other RACF practitioners. During a quick scan, we already noticed that none of the programs have been updated since 1995. That means that fields added in more recent releases have not been incorporated. If you update the programs to support these later RACF releases, please send us the updates, so that we can update the repository. The RepositoryWe have programs from different sources. The original GARUG programs and contributions from three individuals. The links below point to zip files and documentation files. The documentation file is also included in the corresponding zip file.
